The Physical Classroom Environment: Creating Universal Learning Spaces (Primary & Post-Primary)

This booklet is aimed at primary and post-primary teachers as a resource for them to think about the physical environment of their classroom and how changes can be made to support all students’ learning. Teachers are encouraged to consider the following:

• what they are already doing well in the classroom

• how to review the range of practical, evidence-based strategies

• how to apply some of the suggestions to the classroom environment

• reflect individually and with students on the changes, and adapt to them as necessary.
