Uasdátú ar an ócáid thíos – Curtha ar athló | Update on Autism Parents Meetup – Tae agus Plé Postponed

Tá an teacht le chéile seo curtha ar athló, faraor, ar chúiseanna nach raibh súil leo. Tá súil againn an ócáid a athshocrú sna seachtainí amach romhainn. Ár gcéad leithscéal faoi seo. Tá an fhoirm chlárúcháin fós ar oscailt le gur féidir le tuismitheoirí suim a léiriú san ócáid agus bheith ar an eolas faoin dáta nua don ócáid | Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we have had to postpone this event. We hope to reschedule it for another date in the near future. Sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. The registration form can still be used by parents to express interest in the meetup and to be kept informed of the new date.

Tabhair faoi deara gur ócáid dhátheangach é seo ach i mBéarla den chuid is mó. Tá ócáid chomhchosúil go hiomlán trí Ghaeilge á beartú ar an gCeathrú Rua sna seachtainí amach romhainn.

Would you like to meet other parents or carers of autistic children attending Irish-medium education? If so, we would be delighted to welcome you a friendly, informal meetup organised by Gaeloideachas on Tuesday, the 4th of November from 19.30-21.00.

Where? Galway Education Support Centre, Cluain Mhuire, Wellpark, Galway, H91 R284
When? Tuesday, November 4th, 19:30-21:00
Who are the speakers? Ciara Ní Bhroin, Gaeloideachas, & Siobhán Ní Dhálaigh

Siobhán is Autistic and ADHD. She is a primary school teacher and a Neurodiversity educator for schools and colleges, promoting inclusive practices that foster genuine belonging.
Through NeuroNurturing, she guides and supports Neurodivergent people and their families on their journey of self-discovery, fostering authenticity and self-advocacy. Siobhán will speak about Autistic Communication – Lost in translation on the night and how misunderstanding autistic communication impacts advocacy and inclusion

What will happen at the meetup?
Parents will have the opportunity to chat with other parents over tea, coffee and scones, and share experiences or information, exchange ideas and tips on ways to support your children or just sit back and listen.
We are delighted to welcome Siobhán Ní Dhálaigh, who will be joining us to speak about autistic communication and advocating on behalf of your child. Parents will then have the opportunity to meet and chat with other parents.

Who can register for the meetup?
Parents and carers of autistic children who are attending a naíonra, scoil Ghaeltachta, Gaelscoil, or Gaelcholáiste are welcome to attend. Parents of younger children who are interested in Irish-medium education are also welcome.
Please note that spaces for this event are limited (30 spaces) and advance registration is required. This event will mainly be conducted through English. Another event will take place trí mheán na Gaeilge ar an gCeathrú Rua go han-luath. Registration will close when full and another event will be organised for those who didn’t manage to get a place.
