A number of staff from Gaeloideachas had the opportunity to attend the TeicnEOLAS conference of the Áisaonad in Belfast last month. Although the conference focused on technology resources, many useful suggestions and resources were also shared to support students with special educational needs.

Máire Uí Bhuadáin from Bunscoil Bheanna Boirche gave a great presentation on Universal Design for Learning, the reasons for implementing it and useful resources for the classroom. View her slides here.

We were very pleased to attend Finola Nic Giolla Chatáin from Middletown Centre for Autism’s session on UDL and autism. Finola shared many of the resources that Gaeloideachas has developed with Middletown in her presentation and it was great to hear how they can be used to support autistic children and young people.
